The autumn equinox is here! This is an exceptionally transitional time of year. Not only did we just go through the final full moon of the summer season, but we’re transitioning into one of the two liminal seasons of the year.
Autumn is a powerful time of year, one of my favorites. It’s a period where I take all that I learned and healed in the summer and sit with it and allow it to fully sink in. As I allow the lessons to sink in I work on applying them to the dynamics in my current life. As I have said before, change takes time, it doesn’t happen overnight. The catalysts to change or movement might manifest overnight, but change, deep inner change takes time. Conscious change is the space of the healed, or the person who has moved on, or self-empowerment. Unconscious change could more often be the space of bitterness or hurt. I try to celebrate my change and consciously allow it to manifest into something long-lasting during these liminal spaces in time.
Many cultures celebrate this time of year. The last full moon is what is known as the harvest moon, where we all reap the fruits of our labor, literally and figuratively. Shortly after the harvest moon, the earth pulls us into the fall equinox, adding yet another layer to the movements of letting go and embracing the flow of the universe. In some cultures, this is the time year when they celebrate the dead because during transitional phases the veil between the physical and spiritual is lifted. Not only are veils lifted but the earth is going into its meditative, or subconscious season. The space we as humans go to when we connect to universal oneness. Symbolically, not only are we letting go of the past energies we are beginning our descent into the subconscious space in time.
This makes this week an exceptionally important week to nurture yourself and connect deeply to your inner voice. Commit to your true self and allow it to guide you on your path and to your purpose. Your veil is lifted, take advantage of the connection you have to the divine and find self-empowerment within that space. Most importantly, don’t forget to take the time to nurture yourself and rest. Allowing change into your spiritual world moves you in profound ways. It takes a lot for your mind and body to go through shifts such as this.
This is also an incredible time of year to give offerings to the forces who have helped you move along in life. If you’re a gardener consider leaving out some of your crops as an offering to the divine. If you are an artist, draw a little picture on a piece of paper and offer that up. Offerings can be many different things, such as incense, burning a candle, a snack, alcohol, a sigil drawn in the sand, or many more things. Get creative and give thanks to the positive and uplifting energies in your life.
If you’re someone who hasn’t started paying attention to the shifting energy within the moon phases and throughout the year, that’s ok. This is a great opportunity for opening up and meditating. Ask spirit and your ancestors for guidance, create an inner sacred space for them to move you and help you find your path.
Happy autumnal equinox!

I enjoy your blogs. I have noticed a lot of chaos with the changing of the seasons and full moon. It is hard to center yourself and allow the changes within feeling chaotic. You state this in a calm manner that it helps center myself. Keep blogging as I welcome your introspective view. Thank you
